mads and i spent a couple of days writing with super talented american writer/producer/artist/filmmaker christian. his new single is  ‘when she turns 18′

the video promos he directs himself are jaw droppingly fresh and edgy.

Marc fox came by to add his rhythmic magic to some new tunes.

Here we see him playing with his big cuica.

Also had the “A-Team” – the string quartet with everton and warren on fiddles,bruce on viola and ian on cello – playing on our new dionne bromfield songs.

Martin Brammer brings his sexy lyricism to the swamp

sony signing catterina torres came and we wrote a fun hit song ‘Disco Pants’! – but do the record company realise it? ( answer – no!)

Recently seen at the swamp were Richard Lobb (see pic) writing for ‘The Bonfires’.

Tom Meadows came by to tub thump for The Bonfires too.

The best news was that I completed my sponsored half marathon in memory of web-designer and friend Tony Young. Phew.

Latest visitor to the swamp , from island records, was the very soulful Dionne Bromfield (and her mum).

Also seen twirling their pens were Martin Brammer, Graham Gouldman, Lucie Silvas and another firm favourite, Colin Campsie.

And recently heard laying down a backbeat were superstar session drummer Ashley Soan (see pic) and Brian Bennett of ‘The Shadows’, a little known sixties combo : )

My friend and website designer Tony Young died June 3rd aged 42 after being diagonised with a brain tumour in Febuary this year.

A brave,spirited and super-positive character loved by all who knew him.Every holiday saw him cycling across Canada or Cuba or on school trips to Namibia (He was an IT teacher at King Alfred School, Golders Green) and seemed to have packed a lot of living into his limited years.

Also a member of the five a side group Paddington Wrecks FC and a terrible gossip too. Very glad to have known him.A star that shone too briefly.

A favourite at the swamp are the band “The Bonfires”.we’ve been writing furiously for the upcoming album. (“FFOS”).

Two highlights of the year so far….my 50th birthday bash and todd rundgren performing his classic seventies album “a wizard; a true star”.

It was an honour to have so many of my dearest friends at a surprise birthday party.in fact it was overwhelming.a slick live band with various star turns from guest singers like badams (let’s get it on ),graham gouldman (a dedicated ‘dreadlock holiday’ ),wayne hector (‘superstition’),lucie silvas (‘torn’) and paul surety!!!

An amazing evening.love was in the air.

a couple of weeks later i was lucky enough to attend todd’s rehearsals for the hammersmith show.i shook the genius’s hand.a wizard.a true star.the show was like crazy theatre.check out the posts on youtube.my inspiration.

meanwhile at the studio this year we’ve had the fabulous pixie lott come by for some songwriting.voice sounding even better.

also collaborating at ‘the swamp’ were up and comer liam o’donnell,norwegian pop star lise karlsnes,songwriter ina wroldsen and noisettes drummer jamie morrison.
